Adult Daughters of Naracissitic Mothers.

Premature and NICU Mothers.

Growing up with a narcissitic mother is confusing, damaging and when we become mothers ourself, these emotions can remerge with full force. Feeling confused in your idenitiy as a mother, doubting your abilities and wanting more for your own children.

Postnatal depression and anxiety can overshadow our experiences as a mother. It can make us feel lost, trapped and overwhelmed. Exploring our feelings about parenting with PND/A can be the first steps to acknowledging and honouring the challenges it brings.

Workshops - Maternal experiences of pregnancy, birth and motherhood

Workshops are offered from 1- 4.30pm in Melbourne's East.

Lindseys clinical practice focuses on some of the challenges of pregnacy, birth and new motherhood. She invites any women who may identify with any of the challenges described below or who may just be struggling with the transition into this new part of their life.

Lindsey facilitates all workshops as a trauma therapist who has an interest in and who has completed additional professional development hours in trauma informed expressive art therapy.

The approach of the workshop is not group therapy in the sense you have to share your trauma history with the group. The group format is for a shared knowing only, and participants complete tasks independently. At the end of the workshop, participants are invited to share their reflections of their workshop experiences.

Lindsey would be happy to explore additional venues within Victoria and interstate. If you think you could assist in hosting a workshop, please do get in contact.

Birth Trauma.

Experiencing a disappointing, distressful or traumatic birth can prove a very rocky start to motherhood. A third of women describe their birth as traumatic, so acknowledging the emotional aspects of birth is very important to healing from a birth that is traumatising.

Hyperemesis Gravadarum

HG is a terribly lonely journey, fraught with moments of real despair. Only others who have lived through HG and all the challenges it throws at you truly know the depths it can take you.

The journey of mothers through premature labour and NICU is a lonely and long daily struggle. Each day brings a new challenge, and only those who have experienced it truly know the strain it takes on the whole family in every meaning of the word.

The loss of a child at any stage, is a life changing and devastating event. Mothers can feel disenfranchised in their grief due to the lack of acknowledgement society gives miscarriage and stillborn deaths. It can be hard to know where to take these feelings.
